Venus Cardigan

The Venus cardigan is maximalism with a bill of materials: rockets, constellations and “NO! JEANS SPACE” lettering built from intarsia patchwork, embroidery and woven badges over a ramie-cotton body. A garment like this lives or dies on specification. Every motif needed a placement, a technique, a thread color and a Pantone reference. This is the 17-page pack I built to make it manufacturable, credited “Tech Designer: Monica Gupta” on page one.

Design intent
The garment as a map
Front, back and sleeves each get a color plan: body and rib yarn colors are called out with Pantone TPX references before a single motif is placed.
Embellishment engineering
Every motif, specified
Each panel is exploded into patchworks (numbered), embroideries (lettered a–d) and badges (cross-referenced to their own pages). A sewer in the factory can find any motif's technique, thread color and Pantone without asking.
Color system
A Pantone vocabulary of 25+ colors
Body and rib set the ground; badge and embroidery colors do the storytelling. Screen values are approximations; the TPX code is the contract.
